On-line retailer Giant Amazon report a 32% increase in profits for the first quarter of 2014.
The profits of $108m (or £64m) is said to be due to strong sales and a “kinetic start” to 2014.
However, a rise in expenses by 23% from the previous year disappointed investors and ate into profits made.
Along with new products and offerings (its fire TV box and its new deal with HBO) Amazon announced in March an Increase of 25% on its Prime Unlimited shipping membership cost to help bring expense figures back in line.
